Bless the Lord, O my soul, Updated October 2007We take God at His Word when He promises to heal our diseases, and we see it happening every day in Abbie as she recovers from a near-drowning accident on May 3, 2004 (for the whole story click here). There are many tools He has provided us along the way that have helped Abbie in this process. Although they have been developed by man, we believe each of them has been a gift from God at just the time we needed them. I find myself sending many emails to parents of other injured or ill children, and answering questions from people struggling to maintain or regain their health. I thought perhaps it was time to consolidate all we have learned and been given in one spot, for people to read and use as they need. Very early in Abbie's journey a precious friend had a comforting vision of Abbie. He was reluctant to share it with us, but finally did so. He saw Abbie walking hand-in-hand with Jesus, smiling and having a great time, as if they were walking in a park. As the view expanded, however, our friend could see that they were not walking in a park but in a deep dark valley, and behind Abbie and Jesus he could see masses and masses of people following. She looked back at everyone as if to say, "C'mon…this is not scary at all!" The little girl who said, hours before her accident, "Jesus keeps me safe! Jesus keeps me safe!" knew what she was talking about. Her spirit, trusting in Him has led us through some dark valleys, just as our friend saw. I believe she is paving a path for many to regain health, wellness, and above all…HOPE! We have done, and are doing many things with Abbie. Some are brain-injury specific, but the large majority are not. We continue to learn new things almost monthly, thus the need for the updating of this page. These are the tools we have used and information we have gained in our adventure:Prayer If you have questions about anything listed above or discussed here, please feel free to email me at varasix@aol.com — Tiffany Vara |
